Brand-loyal customers can help you get through tough economic times, media crises, and even a slow day. But before these customers save your butt, you have to empower them. Open Forum offers eight ways to help build your brand loyalty. Here are just two:

Make your diehard fans extra talkative

A paid representative can only be so convincing. A person’s friend or family member will go miles farther for free. Reward people who refer business to you. If you do it well, they’ll only keep referring.

Give your fans a name

Lady Gaga has her “little monsters.” Jimmy Buffett has the Parrotheads. Naming your fans will help create a sense of identity and community at the same time.

As the American workday gets longer and longer, our sleep habits get worse and worse. As Open Forum points out, your sleep habits can easily mess up your lifestyle. Take a look at one of the eight ways they point out that sleep habits can harm you. Here’s two:

Thinking you can catch up on sleep another time. While you may feel better getting to sleep in on the weekend, you don’t actually have a sleep bank, where you can make up hours that you lose. The best route to take is to aim for getting what your body needs on a daily basis.

Not thinking you need as much sleep as you used to. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need less sleep as you age. The amount of sleep that your body needs remains quite consistent throughout your entire adulthood.

There’s a good reason they call it jolly old England, and while we don’t know what it was before the introduction of Warburtons Toastie Knife, we certainly know what it is now: The ability to spread real butter on breakfast goodies.

No more sacrificing flavor and saturated fat for a more spreadable imitation thanks to the knife that warms up just enough to slice and spread that scrumptious stick of yellowy goodness.

The sun may have set on the empire but a country that produces self-heating butter knives still rules in our book.

You dreamed about it every time those deluxe Hot Wheels commercials came on TV, being the first to take the double loop in real life and survive to tell the tale.

Now, instead of being mad with jealousy of the kid with said set, you can live vicariously through Tanner Foust and Greg Tracy, the Team Hot Wheels drivers who set a Guinness World Record at the 2012 X Games.
