There’s lots of advice about negotiation floating around online. What sets this Young Entrepreneurs Council advice, though, is that it offers insight from successful entrepreneurs. For example:

Use Silence to Your Advantage

“I use silence when I negotiate and find it is one of the best tools. Often times, your partner will fill the silence with extra information or think you’re playing hardball and suddenly drop their price or terms without you even asking. You can learn a lot about a person by how they fill in the silence.”

Harmful parasites, including one that causes malformed limbs in frogs, are less successful at infecting amphibians when there is a rich diversity of parasites.

“While our study was on amphibian diseases, there is ample evidence to suggest similar processes can be occurring in humans and other groups of animals," says Pieter Johnson, assistant professor of ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Colorado.

Over time, text messaging has earned a bad rap with experts saying it ruins social interaction, writing skills, and expression -- not to mention it contributes to dangerous behaviors, like texting while driving.

Nonetheless, it's a convenient way and cheap way to keep in touch, and some doctors and organizations are finding new ways to improve people's lives thanks to the simple text message.

That a Dragon is hurtling through space to the International Space Station sounds like the ultimate melding of sci-fi and fantasy, but this is a story for the history books.

SpaceX’s Dragon is the first commercial craft being used to carry supplies to ISS, and though many applauded its successful takeoff this morning, the real test will come when it must test its maneuverability around ISS before being allowed to dock.

Oh, and did we mention that Star Trek’s Scotty’s ashes are also along for the ride, along with the remains of 307 other individuals? Now, that’s a sendoff.

Celebrated author Neil Gaiman seems to have struck a chord with his commencement speech this year to graduates of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia with eight amazing pieces of advice to those who have chosen the rocky road of the arts to follow.

1. Say “no” to projects that take you further from rather than closer to your own creative goals, however flattering or lucrative. (Hugh MacLeod put it beautifully: “The most important thing a creative per¬son can learn professionally is where to draw the red line that separates what you are willing to do, and what you are not.”)

2. Approach your creative labor with joy, or else it becomes work. (As Ray Bradbury said, “Writing is not a serious business. It’s a joy and a celebration. You should be having fun with it.”)
