The goal of the Popinator Project was a simple one, to change the way people eat popcorn rather than messing with the flavor or how to pop it.

No more risk of spilling the bowl as its being passed across the room, no more sharing with hands that might have skipped a washing after the last bathroom break; just say the word “Pop,” and the Popinator shoots a delectable bite right into your mouth.

This, my friends, is the beauty of technology.

Domestic tomatoes could re-learn a thing or two from their wild cousins—like how to fight off bugs.

Long-term cultivation has led to tomato crops losing beneficial traits common to wild tomatoes. Anthony Schilmiller of Michigan State University has identified a gene that is involved in one of these beneficial traits: "hairs" that secrete a sugar to battle insects.

Back in the 1920s and 30s, as a new generation of workers was leaving behind their blue collars for white, a new definition of manly virtues was needed in the workforce.

While today, one often sees stunning outdoor scenes, which seem to equate the entrepreneurial spirit with a frontier-style attitude, back then, the office was a frontier of sorts compared to the farm or factory.

Brett and Kate McKay at The Art of Manliness take a fascinating journey down memory lane to the heyday that preceded the Great Depression and the values it espoused.

Think these would do the trick in the break room today?

All too often, we dismiss the elders among us as being too old to party like a rock star, but that’s certainly not the case for this eighty-three-year-old LSU fan who schools her fellow tailgaters in the finer points of a keg stand.

Best part is, she doesn’t have to get up for work or class the next day.
