Pockets don't get deeper than this

The deeper the pockets, the harder to pick, but with these unusual jeans from Adele Fado, you can kiss that loose change goodbye.

We’d also like to point out that those shoes won’t do much to make your legs look longer with a half-size inseam, but this is fashion, right?

Make no plans for being able to run away from that pick-pocket; then again, they’ll be stuck in the pants until police arrive.

The illustrations in a sketchbooks aren’t always as revealing as what the sketcher unwittingly leaves behind in the way of evidence.

Rethinking your plan for your leadership career

I never put much time into mapping out my career. Having graduated with a degree in biology, I thought research was where I wanted to be for the rest of my life. I soon discovered that working in a laboratory was a lonely place to be. At some point, I learned that I needed more interaction with others than I was getting.

This revelation led me to staying open to what would fulfill my need to work collaboratively and be able to help more people in my work life. I’ve had a long, rich (and unusual) career in a number of disciplines unrelated to biology, without ever mapping out my career path in detail. Knowing that I was a “people person” seemed to be one of the keys that helped me to thrive.

A new study documents the largest-ever reported outbreak of tattoos infected with a type of bacteria often found in tap water.

“I’ve seen people with tattoo-related issues over the years, but never this many: The volume of patients impacted makes this a real public health concern," says Mary Gail Mercurio, a dermatologist at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

If you have a rash after getting a new tattoo, think twice before assuming it's an allergic reaction or a normal part of the healing process, say the researchers.

7 C's for great social media strategies

If a company is looking for a great presence on social media, it’s vital to have a plan in place to get to know your potential audience, where they hang in the social media world and how to best get word out.

Matt Royse at Knowledge Enthusiast has broken down this process into the seven C’s in order to bring focus to your strategy and maximize the potential offered by social media.

1. Community

…Finding out where your community interacts on social media is the first step of a successful social media strategy. It is important to first determine what type of conversations are taking place about your brand and in your industry before engaging in a community or building a community from scratch…

2. Content

After you figure out how your community engages with social media, you should next figure out what content you are going to share with your followers. For example, if you are looking to grow your personal brand, what articles are you going to share to highlight your expertise about your job or personal interests? If you are a company, how can you show your clients and prospects that you are a thought leader or that you are trying to make their lives easier? To learn more about the importance of content, you may want to read the Content Marketing Institute blog.

A new quantum processor is capable of factoring a composite number into its constituent prime factors—a step toward advances in cybersecurity and cryptography.

"Anytime you send a secure transmission—like your credit card information—you are relying on security that is based on the fact that it's really hard to find the prime factors of large numbers," says UC Santa Barbara researcher Erik Lucero.

The new processor could lead to what the researchers call quantum cryptography, which would be more harder to break.

Oh well, it’s only a game, right?

Just kidding.
